Jereko Gear: Evolving with the Times

It’s been obvious — even to me — that I haven’t kept up with the Jereko Gear Blog for several months. While it would be easy to point fingers at a specific cause, that’s just not who I am. The truth is, I’ve been overwhelmed. Balancing a full-time job, running Jereko Gear, and managing several side projects has stretched me thin, leaving me stressed and, at times, uninspired. I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been happening so far in 2025 and what the future holds for Jereko Gear.

Jereko Gear Retail

In late 2024, a close friend — a fellow business owner in the outdoor industry — presented me with an opportunity of a lifetime. For anyone familiar with Western New York, you’ll know that Letchworth State Park is a beloved destination for both locals and tourists, and just nearby, the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail offers a scenic route for the cycling community, connecting small towns throughout the region. It’s in this area that Livingston County offered me the chance to open a bicycle and outdoor gear shop in Mt. Morris, NY. Naturally, I couldn’t say no. I’ve spent the past several months putting everything I have into building what will become the future home of Jereko Gear.

What Will Be Offered

While there’s still plenty of work ahead before the storefront officially opens, I’m optimistic about the future. In the meantime, I’ve put together a list of the services Jereko Gear will offer once we open our doors.

Bike Shop Services:

• Full-service bicycle and e-bike repair, with multiple service packages available

• Bicycle and e-bike sales featuring brands like Surly, Aventon, Riese & Müller, and Tern

• E-bike rentals for local exploration

Outdoor Gear Shop Services:

• Consignment sales for gently used outdoor gear, with convenient drop-off options

• Gear repair services to extend the life of your favorite equipment

• Gear rentals based on seasonal and local demand

• Guided bike and hiking tours, offering a range of distances and difficulty levels

• A full selection of Jereko Gear products, along with goods from local makers and manufacturers

This has been a tremendous undertaking and, as I’ve mentioned, the main focus of my efforts over the past several months. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has purchased my products or supported my work — every cent goes directly into growing and improving this little brand. As I’ve said countless times before, Jereko Gear was never about making money; it’s about getting you out there.
